York Regional Police and the Fire Services of York Region are proud to announce that the Community Safety Village of York Region has officially completed the construction phase and is ready to welcome children from grades one to four to participate in our life-saving educational programs.

The Community Safety Village of York Region has partnered with the York Region District School Board and the York Region Catholic District School Board as well as representatives from the Police Department, Fire Services, EMS and Public Health to write the curriculum for all grade levels.

To enhance the learning opportunities associated with the Community Safety Village,
a “Pre-Visit Package” which outlines a variety of activities for each grade level to participate in prior to their visit,
learning expectations and assessment opportunities and expectations will be available in your school’s Resource Centre.
After your visit, there is also a series of “Post Visit Activities” which can also be found in your Resource Centre.

As we are the only Safety Village in Ontario to provide teachers with these resources, we hope that a visit to the
Safety Village will become a valuable learning experience for students that teachers will ensure they provide for their class
on a yearly basis.
